Paseo review

Paseo is an open source agentic development environment for running and orchestrating multiple coding agents from desktop, mobile, web, and CLI.

Updated Nov 1, 2026. Review written Nov 1, 2026 from the project's own sources; usage data refreshed every Monday.

TL;DR

Paseo is an open source app that gives Claude Code, Codex, Copilot, OpenCode, Pi, Antigravity, and Muse Code one interface. It suits developers who run several agents in parallel, each in its own worktree. A local daemon serves desktop, mobile, web, and CLI clients, so you can check in on agents from your phone.

What Paseo does

  • Paseo runs many coding agents at once, each in its own git worktree, on one machine or several.
  • Paseo lets agents create worktrees, launch other agents, and talk to them, across providers.
  • Paseo puts agents, an editor, terminals, diffs, pull requests, and a browser in one window with arrangeable split panes.
  • Paseo offers voice mode for dictating tasks. Voice mode is opt-in and supports local speech models such as Whisper and SenseVoice.
  • Paseo supports plugins that run on the daemon and add UI, agent lifecycle hooks, MCP server configuration, or new agent providers.
  • Paseo provides a CLI and a TypeScript SDK, @getpaseo/client, for scripting agents and building integrations or dashboards.
  • Paseo keeps terminal programs running across daemon restarts and resumes interrupted agents in their existing conversations.

How to install and start using Paseo

CLI and daemon with npm

npm install -g @getpaseo/cli

Paseo skills for your agent

npx skills add getpaseo/paseo

Requirements

  • At least one agent CLI installed and configured with your credentials: Claude Code, Codex, GitHub Copilot, OpenCode, Pi, Antigravity, or Muse Code.
  • npm, for the server or CLI install. Docker is an alternative for running the daemon and web UI.

First steps

  1. Install and configure at least one agent CLI, such as Claude Code or Codex, with your credentials.
  2. Download the desktop app from paseo.sh/download and open it. The daemon starts automatically.
  3. To connect your phone, open Settings → your host → Pair Device.
  4. From the terminal, start a task with paseo run, then list agents with paseo ls.

Who Paseo is for

  • Developers running several coding agents in parallel on separate worktrees.
  • Developers who use multiple agent providers and want them in one interface.
  • Developers who want to monitor or steer agents from a phone.
  • Teams building agent orchestration or issue integrations with a TypeScript SDK.

Limitations to know

  • Paseo is not an agent itself. It requires a separately installed and authenticated agent CLI.
  • Paseo plugins run with access to your daemon machine and connected clients, so you should install only plugins you trust.
  • Paseo runs agents on your own machines, so you must host and run the daemon yourself.
  • The Docker image needs extending with the agent CLIs you use, plus credentials.
