Oh My OpenAgent review

Oh My OpenAgent (OmO) is a terminal coding agent, run with one `omo` command, that orchestrates multiple AI models to research, plan, code and verify work.

Updated Nov 1, 2026. Review written Oct 22, 2026 from the project's own sources; usage data refreshed every Monday.

TL;DR

Oh My OpenAgent (OmO) is an agent you run with the `omo` command in your project. It runs on senpi, a fork of pi. It targets developers who want to mix subscription and cheap models. Keywords like `ultrawork` and `mass ulw` trigger planned, verified work or a parallel graph of agents.

What Oh My OpenAgent does

  • Oh My OpenAgent's `ultrawork` (or `ulw`) keyword makes the agent read the codebase, plan, prove each step and verify the result before stopping.
  • Oh My OpenAgent's `mass ulw` keyword splits a job into a graph of agents that run in parallel, each on a fitting model.
  • Oh My OpenAgent stores memory as markdown files in a git repository, with a small model nudging the main agent to avoid repeated mistakes.
  • Oh My OpenAgent signs in to Claude, ChatGPT, Kimi and GLM subscriptions through `/login`, with a tuned system prompt per model.
  • Oh My OpenAgent ships skills, including browser use, and loads only the skills a task needs.
  • Oh My OpenAgent batches independent tool calls into one round trip and repairs malformed tool arguments before they run.
  • Oh My OpenAgent can resume past sessions and keeps a record of checked work so restarted sessions continue.

How it works

Oh My OpenAgent installs a native `omo` binary into `~/.local/bin`. You open a project, run `omo` and describe the job. It runs on senpi, a fork of pi. Settings live in `~/.omo/omo.jsonc`, with optional per-project `.omo/omo.jsonc`; the closest file wins. Config, skills and prompts reload live. Users of the OpenCode edition can migrate with `omo setup`.

How to install and start using Oh My OpenAgent

macOS, Linux, WSL

curl -fsSL https://get.omo.dev/install.sh | bash

Windows PowerShell

irm https://get.omo.dev/install.ps1 | iex

With npm

npm i -g omo-ai

Requirements

  • Runs on macOS, Linux, WSL or Windows.
  • Needs access to model providers, through subscriptions via `/login` or provider keys.

First steps

  1. Open your project in a terminal, run `omo`, and describe the job.
  2. Run `/login` in a session to sign in to Claude, ChatGPT, Kimi or GLM subscriptions.
  3. Add `ultrawork` or `ulw` to a prompt for hard tasks, or `mass ulw` for large multi-part jobs.
  4. Coming from the OpenCode edition or LazyCodex, run `omo setup` once, then `omo doctor` to check provider coverage.

Who Oh My OpenAgent is for

  • Developers who want an agent to take a task from research to verified code without hand-holding.
  • Teams mixing frontier and cheap models across Claude, GPT, Kimi and GLM subscriptions.
  • Large parallel jobs such as migrations, deep research or machine-learning pipelines.
  • Existing OpenCode-edition or LazyCodex users moving to the standalone OmO.

Limitations to know

  • Oh My OpenAgent's computer use feature is marked experimental.
  • Oh My OpenAgent release binaries can be up to 182 MiB per platform.
  • Oh My OpenAgent's npm package is `omo-ai`; the `omo` package on npm is unrelated.
  • Oh My OpenAgent is described by its author as a personal side project.
