## What omnirush.ai does

- omnirush.ai lets you choose a model and an effort level (low, high, xhigh, max) per chat from your account's model catalog.
- omnirush.ai clones, branches, creates worktrees, commits, pushes, and opens and reviews pull requests with gh.
- omnirush.ai connects to local MCP servers from a supported list, such as filesystem, git, SQLite, memory, time and Playwright.
- omnirush.ai supports skills added from the Library in Settings, and every model sees the same skills.
- omnirush.ai has a full-permissions toggle that switches between asking for and allowing every tool call.
- omnirush.ai can run a swarm of sub-agents on one task and return a single summary.
- omnirush.ai offers Claude Opus 5.5 in the model picker, which opens a Claude chat in the project's sandbox.

### How it works

omnirush.ai is a desktop app built on the OpenCode 2 engine (2.0.32). You sign in through omnirush.ai/console with a device code, and prompts run only after an account is connected. Models come from your omnirush.ai account. On Linux, your sign-in is stored in the system keyring. On macOS, it is protected by a keychain key. Claude chats need Docker or Podman.

## How to install omnirush.ai

**macOS: clear quarantine on first launch**

```
xattr -dr com.apple.quarantine /Applications/omnirush.app
```

**Linux AppImage or tar.gz: install GTK runtime**

```
sudo apt install libgtk-3-0 libnss3 libatk-bridge2.0-0 libasound2
```

**From source: install dependencies**

```
pnpm install --frozen-lockfile
```

### Requirements

- An omnirush.ai account; the app does not run prompts until one is connected.
- macOS on Apple Silicon, or Linux on x64 or arm64.
- Docker or Podman, for now, to use Claude models.
- For development: Node.js 24, pnpm 11.4 and Bun 1.3.10 or newer.

### First steps

1. Download the build for your platform from the GitHub releases page and verify it with SHA256SUMS.txt.
2. On macOS, allow the unnotarized app via System Settings > Privacy & Security > Open Anyway.
3. Click Sign in to omnirush.ai and approve the device code in the browser at omnirush.ai/console.
4. Configure local MCP servers in Settings > MCP and add skills from the Library in Settings.

## Who omnirush.ai is for

- Developers who want a desktop coding agent with frontier models at no cost.
- Developers who want an agent to handle git branches, worktrees, commits and pull requests.
- Researchers who want an agent to analyze files in a local folder.

### Limitations

- omnirush.ai does not support your own provider API keys; models come only from your omnirush.ai account.
- omnirush.ai does not support remote or account-linked MCP servers, only local servers from the supported list.
- omnirush.ai has no build for Intel Macs, and macOS builds are not notarized yet.
- omnirush.ai chats keep one provider, so switching to another provider's model starts a new chat.
